A Year-Long
Clinical Extern Training program
This
advanced level training program is designed for experienced
therapists who are interested in increasing their knowledge,
and further developing their skill in Brief and narrative
Therapy. Applicants for this program will have completed
the year one Brief and Narrative Therapy extern program or
a similar recognized program.
Trainees
are assigned therapy cases, operate as a member of reflecting
teams, and participate with the faculty in an exciting new
research project conducted in collaboration with the Faculty
of Social Work, University of Toronto. The focus of
this collaborative research effort has been to begin to empirically
examine the therapeutic processes and outcomes and to contribute
to the development of research on Narrative Therapy.
The
program operates for 30 full days, September through June,
one day per week. The program format includes live therapy
sessions, didactic presentations, structured group videotaped
reviews of both trainee sessions and of internationl faculty,
and regularly scheduled supervision. As well as the latest
clinical and research developments, this training will focus
on micro-skill development.
