n May 3, 2007, the Hincks-Dellcrest Foundation held its annual fund raising event, Raise a Child's Smile at the Liberty Grand. The evening was a tremendous success raising over $280,000. Thanks to the generousity of our sponsors and guests, we were able to keep our costs low, and are very proud that the expenses of the event were less than 15%. The money raised will help support programs for children and youth and the development of innovative strategies in prevention, early intervention, training, research, and treatment.
This year we were delighted to honour Ken Shaw, CTV News, for his long term support and outstanding commitment to Hincks-Dellcrest.
Lance Brown, CTV News hosted the evening which included a tribute to Ken given by Hincks-Dellcrest's CEO, John Spekkens and a video "roast" produced by CTV's Tom Brown. Michael Burgess and Robert Pilon thrilled the audience when they each sang in honour of Ken.

Throughout the evening, guests bid on over 120 silent auction prizes, had their picture digitally placed behind the CTV News desk next to Ken Shaw and could try their luck at "Unlocking a Child's Smile" to win a diamond and pearl necklace.
Ken and Lance led the live auction which included a shopping spree at the St. Regis Room and an opportunity to have your gardening questions answered by Canada's gardening expert, Mark Cullen. Amazing adventures included Dinner & Cruise for 8 with the Toronto Fire Fighters, a Cameron Air flight to the Bigwin Island Golf Course to golf with Ken Shaw and Michael Burgess, and a trip to Windjammer Villa Beach Resort in St. Lucia.
The Hincks-Dellcrest Foundation wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to our sponsors who helped make this special evening a reality.
